Christmas Is
For Kids is an organization that distributes toys and other gifts to children and families in need at Christmas and other
special occasions. We are located in Libby, Montana.Libby is located in the northwest corner of the state, and is an absolutely
beautiful place. Unfortunately, our unemployment rate has skyrocketed, and we are dealing with a disastrous environmental
health issue. Many of the families that take part in our program literally have to decide whether to feed and keep the
family warm throughout the holiday season or celebrate Christmas. What a sad decision as a parent, to have to make.
We host
an annual toy giveaway at Christmas, as well as distribution of bicycles, school supplies and other needed items throughout
the year. We have not, as of this date, received our non profit status, because it costs several hundred dollars to do the
paperwork and apply and frankly I would rather spend that money on toys. Our organization is TOTALLY funded via donation,
and everything goes directly to the children and families. There are no paid employees, all work is done on a voluntary basis.
In fact many of our families donate time in gratitude.
My name is Star Phillips, I am one of the original
founders of Christmas Is for Kids. I have been blessed to be involved for 5 years.I am a Dj and Kj (karaoke jockey, for those
of you who aren't up on karaoke lingo), and am fortunate to be able to advertise this cause during the course of my business.
We have several local businesses and individuals that donate generously to our cause, but each year the demand grows greater. In
The past 4 years, I have been able to take care of any costs not covered by donation, but as the need grows, my ability to
"foot the bill" comes into question.
We ask for no information from the families, except to ask
them not to use the program if they honestly do not need it, as to do so may mean someone genuinely in need may have to do
without as a result.I personally believe that I was given this cause as my service to humanity.
If you have never been involved in a program such
as ours, I highly recommend that you try it. The feeling of love and gratitude that is generated is amazing. When you look
into the eyes of a child that expected Christmas to be just another day when he or she realizes that is not the case, someone
out there loves them and wants them to be happy, or look into the eyes of the parent of that child, you will be addicted.
If you are so inclined to help, please contact me via email
and I would be more than happy to help you through the donation process. If you are skeptical about donating to my organization,
but would still like to help, PLEASE look up your local group that provides this service and donate time or anything
else you are able to donate. A child and a parent will love you for it, and you will be blessed.
Our Motto is "Each Child Deserves One Day Of Pure Magic",
and we are dedicated to ensure that happen.
Thank you for your time.
